Our Mission
Marnie Greenwood learned that the children who receive outpatient cancer treatment do not have many entertainment options. What if teams of volunteers visited the outpatient clinics each week and made jewelry with the patients and their families while they were receiving treatment?
Marnie Rocks Beading Cancer was born!
In November 2007 a team made up of MR corporate employees and friends of the brand began visiting the Children's Cancer Hospital at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. The positive impact was immediate for the patients and their families. The program is now a regional non-profit organization that includes the Texas Children’s Hospital Cancer Center in Houston and the Children’s Medical Center - Dallas.
Continuing into 2009 the Marnie Rocks Beading Cancer organization will launch nationally to include Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York with more coming soon.
With only a two hour commitment each month, you can be a part of a life changing experience and make the day brighter for a child who is stuck in a clinic receiving their daily cancer treatment. Everyone benefits, patients as well as our volunteer teams.
MRBC provides beading supplies to patients and their families so that they can have a creative outlet during their brief time at the hospital.
